Since immemorial time, in May, shepherds from the interior of Portugal climb Estrela Mountain in search of better pastures.
The Great Transhumance Route is the recreation of these ancestral routes through various activities, walks, experiences and events.
A tribute to the memory of these itineraries of shepherds and their flocks, crossing the plateaus in the north of the Tagus River, Gardunha and Estrela Mountain.
